Facebook CEO Announces Next Level of eCommerce Push

There are around 1.2 million Facebook and Instagram Shops today. They seem to be a significant eCommerce push since their launch last year. These Shops have also recorded 300 million monthly visitors. Recently, the platform introduced branded content marketplace and live shopping Fridays. Today, Facebook’s CEO announces the next level of its eCommerce push.

Instagram Shopping

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg makes the announcement on his Facebook page. He said that new eCommerce features are coming to support businesses and make online shopping easier on the Facebook family of apps. 

  • Instagram visual search will help users discover products from inspiring images.
  • Shop Ads is a new way to personalize the shopping experience through curated collections.
  • Shops on Marketplace aims to reach 1 billion people using it.
  • Shops on WhatsApp allow users to chat with a brand if he or she has any query before checkout.

Facebook is looking forward to making it easier to set up Shops and have them work across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
