Calling all Spaces hosts! Here’s a new update from Twitter. The platform enables downloading of Spaces as of today. On 03 May 2021, Twitter globally launched Spaces both for Android and iOS devices. Spaces are audio rooms similar to the Clubhouse app. Since its launch, Twitter has been continuously enhancing such audio features. It enabled accessing Spaces on the web, editing Spaces, and scheduling Spaces. It is even testing ticketed Spaces.
As Twitter announces, the recording of Spaces is now available for Spaces hosts. They can now download the Spaces they have hosted in the past 30 days. They only need to go to the “Your Account” tab and choose the “Download and Archive Your Data” section. Tap “Request to Archive” and the host will automatically get a zip file of all the data an account has on Twitter. These will include the Spaces hosted within 30 days. The process may take up to 24 hours.
Twitter enables downloading of Spaces on 17 June 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
Downloading Twitter Spaces is a small enhancement of such an audio feature. For marketers, this can provide an easier way to maximize the reach of Spaces. Getting a copy of Spaces that brands have hosted to allow them to share the content on the different marketing platforms.
