It was in August 2020 when Instagram launched Reels. Instagram Reels are a 60-second music video that imitates TikTok clips. As it becomes the main competitor of the TikTok app, the platform wants to equip creators with a tool similar to customizable Stories templates. Today, Instagram introduces Reels templates.

Reels templates allow creators to recreate Reels. This has previously been tweeted by Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineering expert. Creators can copy other Reels formats to serve as templates for the creation of a new reel. It is currently available to a small group of selected IG creators.
Instagram introduces Reels templates on 22 April 2022.
Implications to Marketers:
Reels templates make it easier for marketers to create new Reels ads and campaigns. At the same time, it can give them inspiration on what creative they can do next.
