Twitter Opens Application to Test Super Follow and Ticketed Spaces

Here’s big news to Twitter users in the US! Be the first to try the Super Follow option and ticketed Spaces. Twitter opens the application to test both premium features to the public. With these paid subscription services, creators and even public users can monetize their content on the platform.

Twitter Ticketed Spaces and Super Follow

Twitter’s Super Follow is an option available to a Twitter account with more than 10K followers. A subscriber will need to pay $4.99 monthly to get a support badge, exclusive access to a community, content, deals, and discounts, and a newsletter.

Twitter Spaces are live audio rooms like that of the Clubhouse app. Ticketed Spaces is an option available to a Twitter account with more than 1000 followers. The profile owner must be at least 18 years old and have hosted at least 3 Spaces in the past 30 days. The price of a ticketed Space depends on what the host will set.

Twitter will only be taking a 3% cut on the earnings of both Supper Follow and ticketed Spaces. Once a user reaches $50K in lifetime earnings for both premium features, that is the time that Twitter will increase the cut by up to 20%. Like Facebook Stars, both options also have a tip jar. The Super Follow option is only available among iOS users, while ticketed Spaces is available for both Android and iOS.

Twitter opens the application to test Super Follow and ticketed Spaces on 22 June 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Twitter’s Super Follow and ticketed Spaces are a new way to earn money on the platform. Marketers should take a look at these new updates to further monetize a brand’s content on Twitter. As one major goal in marketing is revenue, it may be worth trying paid live audio rooms and premium subscriptions to boost one’s income.
