Remember when Twitter acquired Revue last January? Such a newsletter publishing platform will now be in action! Twitter is adding a subscribe button for newsletter sign-up.
The new subscribe button for newsletter sign-up aims to help journalism writers leverage their followers within the platform. It will appear below the main profile information panel of a writer’s account. Upon tapping the subscribe button, a user will have the option to read a sample issue or directly subscribe to the writer’s newsletter. An email link will then be sent to the user to confirm the subscription. Writers can use them for either a free or paid subscription. Either way, it is very much welcomed by Revue creators.

Implications for Marketers:
Twitter’s subscribe button for newsletter sign-up is a new addition to its paid offerings like paid sports events, Tomorrow weather service, and Twitter Blue. For marketers, they can be an additional revenue option for relevant brands, products, and services. With the growing efforts of Twitter to build an eCommerce platform, it may be worth checking out their updates from time to time.
