Reels are the most competitive TikTok clones. Both Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels are 90-second video remixes. As Meta continuously adds new Reels tools, the more they became popular among users. Today, Instagram introduces Reels API.
API means application programming interface. It allows 3rd party platform integrations. Starting today, Reels will be available to several 3rd party endpoints. These will expand the support scope and reach of Instagram Reels to the following areas:
- Business Discovery
- Comment Moderation
- Content Publishing
- Hashtag Search
- Instagram Basic Display API
- Promote API
Reels API will replace the current Graph API. The update will begin rolling out today and will hopefully be completed by the 6th of July.
Instagram introduces Reels API on 28 June 2022.

Instagram’s new Reels API can be an added capacity for marketers to manage such short-clips content. It will make it easier for brands to add Reels to their marketing strategy.
