Instagram Enable Badges for All US Creators

Here’s a big announcement from Instagram! Starting today, the platform enables badges for all creators in the U.S. Instagram recently tested paid badges in live streaming to a small number of creators last October.

Instagram Live badges

Like branded content tags, badges are a monetization option among professional profiles. They are special hearts icons that followers can buy during a live stream. Badges are available in $0.99, $1.99, and $4.99. In return, they will receive a unique thank you message. The badge is also visible in the comments section of the live stream.

U.S. creators with an Instagram professional account owned by someone who is 18 years old and above with 10k+ followers, and who meet Instagram’s partner monetization policies are eligible to set up badges. You can apply, check eligibility, or set up badges via the professional dashboard.

Instagram enable badges for all US creators on 16 November 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Instagram badges are a great way for creators to earn and engage during a live stream. For marketers, it may be worth checking, as soon, they may be rolled out to business accounts. With such features and innovations, brands have lots of options to level up their marketing approach in the platform.
