YouTube Launches a New Video Activity Graph

YouTube aims to define key moments in a video. These include highlighting dips, intros, and spikes in a graph. That is why the platform started testing engagement graphs, new performance filters, and search insights. Today, YouTube launches a new video activity graph.

The new video activity graph will display the most engaging moments of every video uploaded on the platform. The engagement is based on the number of replays made on a segment. The peak of the graph will show the most replayed segments. As such, the new video activity graph can help creators find the most relevant sections of a clip. During the experimental phase, YouTube found out that 85% of viewers liked the feature. So, YouTube is rolling out the new video activity for all creators and YouTubers.

YouTube launches a new video activity graph on 19 May 2022.

Implications to Marketers:

YouTube’s new video activity graph can be particularly helpful for longer videos and tutorials. They can help marketers get to the point by highlighting these clips as teasers. As such, viewers can easily skip and locate what they are looking for in a video.
