Twitter Tests Revue Newsletter Subscription

Here’s some good news for Twitter news hunters! Twitter is now testing the Revue newsletter subscription. Revue is a newsletter publishing app acquired by the platform last 27 January 2021. It was followed by the acquisition of the Scroll journalism platform. Together with its partnership with AP & Reuter, Twitter is set to level up as a go-to platform for news and trends.

A test pool of Revue creators will now display a prominent “Subscribe” button on their Twitter profile. The newsletter sign-up will give creators an extra avenue to monetize their content. It can also help them build communities through paid subscription services. Twitter’s test to newsletter subscription will initially be available on Twitter for Android and desktop. Soon, the platform will roll it out for iOS users.

Implications for Marketers:

The Revue newsletter subscription on Twitter can help Revue creators turn their followers into paying subscribers. For marketers, this can be new opportunities to partner with writers in promoting products and services relevant to recent news and trends.
