Twitter Tests Ads on Tweet Conversations

Twitter is set to enhance its ads options as a big eCommerce push. Recently, the platform rolled out click ID and a one-page checklist for ads. It also enabled a 15-second buying model for video ads and updated its Carousel ads format. Today, Twitter tests ads on tweet conversations.

Twitter’s Revenue Product Lead, Bruce Falck, announces the update via a tweet. Bruce notes that Twitter is currently testing ads on tweet conversations globally for Android and iOS users. Members of the Twitter nation who are part of the test will most likely see Twitter ads on the 1st, 3rd, or 8th reply under a tweet. Twitter will test different contextually relevant ads on various frequencies, insertion points, and layouts. As they figure out what works best, that is the time they will make the feature permanent.

Twitter tests ads on tweet conversations as of 13 October 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Twitter ads on tweet conversations are a new placement option for marketers. Highlighting brand offering on a tweet conversation can boost reach and revenue. T can also open up new opportunities to reward authors and creators of a tweet.
