Twitter Tests a “Timelines” Button on the Navigation Bar

Twitter has been experimenting with new custom timelines. These are curated feeds controlled through algorithmic sorting of community feeds. The platform has also been testing the home and latest timelines based on chronological orders of tweets. Today, Twitter tests a “Timelines” button on the navigation bar.

App developer & researcher Nima Owji shows an image of the test on a tweet. The “Timelines” button will appear below the “List” button of the Twitter navigation bar. Since it is under testing, no update has been given on whether clicking the “timelines” button can lead users to choose between different Twitter feeds or timelines.

Twitter tests a “Timelines” button on the navigation bar as of 03 August 2022.

Implications to Marketers:

As Twitter tests a “Timelines” button, marketers should prepare different options to highlight their offerings on different timelines. It can help them boost conversion and engagement among segmented Twitter audiences.
