It seems that Elon Musk’s offer to acquire Twitter prompted many changes. One of Elon Musk’s concerns is to develop an open Twitter algorithm. As such, the platform launched Twitter Create, test Circle, multi-attachments on tweets, and tweet labels. Today, Twitter is working on content control tools.
Jane Manchun Wong, a reverse engineering expert, tweets the update. She mentioned that content control tools as an official way to partner with third-party vendors on Twitter. It will enable non-Twitter platforms to log into the app, present custom timelines, and set variable algorithm options.
Twitter is working on content control tools as of 31 May 2021.
Implications to Marketers:
Marketers need to watch out for the effects of content control tools on Twitter as they may significantly change marketing approaches. Brands should also start planning a new way to amplify algorithms as Twitter enters the next level.
