Twitter Enables Algorithmic Sorting of Communities’ Feeds

Twitter is trying to harness the power of groups. Recently, the platform launched communities and enabled pinned tweets. Today, Twitter enables algorithmic sorting of communities’ feeds. Previously, it was the home and latest timelines.

Members of Twitter communities can now sort their timeline views in two ways. These are:

  • The “For You” timeline to view the most relevant tweets of accounts you have followed
  • The “Latest” timeline to view the most recent public tweets based on your interests

Twitter is currently testing the update on Android, iOS, and the web. Clicking the “Home” tab will give users the two timeline choices.

Twitter enables algorithmic sorting of communities’ feeds on 01 June 2022.

Implications to Marketers:

Sorting a timeline is a good way for Twitter marketers to highlight their best offerings. Tagging them on relevant topics makes Twitter ads appear on both the “For You” and “Latest” timelines.
