Meta is pushing Reels to beat TikTok. Launched in July 2020, Reels are initially a 30-second music clip similar to that of TikTok. First, it was launched on Instagram, which now featured Reels templates. Then, there were Facebook Reels. Recently, it expanded Reels length to 90 seconds. Today, Meta expands monetization opportunities for Reels.
Meta now refines the payout calculation on the Reels Play bonus programs. Creators who are making high-quality resonating Reels can now earn up to $4,000 per month. It is through the introduction of “Challenges” for each month. Participating creators can earn cumulative amounts through a series of sequential challenges. As creators complete a challenge, another challenge is unlocked. After 30 days, the challenge reset back to number 1.
