LinkedIn Introduces Swipe Up Feature on LinkedIn Stories

Swipe Up Feature

LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the digital world. With 660 million monthly active users, it’s a great platform to do marketing and promote eCommerce. As such, LinkedIn has now been updating its marketing and sales tools. One of the recent features LinkedIn launched is LinkedIn Stories. They’re an awesome way to show the authenticity of a brand. Today, LinkedIn introduces the swipe up feature on LinkedIn Stories.

LinkedIn Stories is an easy way to share daily experiences and insights through images and short videos. Such a type of LinkedIn content disappears 24 hours after posting. It was initially launched in Brazil on 14 April 2020 and rolled out globally on 24 September 2020. During its global launch, LinkedIn is testing the functionality to add a URL on LinkedIn Stories. Such functionality gives way to the swipe up feature. Once a user creates a story post, a new link icon on top of the composer screen allows adding a URL to the story. Viewers simply swipe up the “See More” button on LinkedIn Stories to view the link.

The swipe up feature for LinkedIn Stories is currently available to:

  • LinkedIn Pages.
  • Individual members who have at least 5,000 connections or followers. The “Follow” button should also be the primary action on their profile (instead of Connect).

LinkedIn introduces the swipe up feature on LinkedIn Stories as of 13 January 3021.

Implications for Marketers:

The swipe up feature on LinkedIn Stories is another way for marketers to increase traffic on a business’ website. It’s a great way to post product links while building the authenticity of a brand. With 660 million users, largely of which, are decision-makers, LinkedIn is, no doubt, a great marketing platform for 2021.
