Instagram Rolls Out Display of Scheduled Live Streams

Last Christmas, Instagram hosted a series of holiday pop-ups. These are live shopping events scheduled for the holidays. As Instagram live hits the spotlight, the platform continuously enhanced its features and tools. These include allowing up to 3 guests and turning audio & video off during the live broadcast. Today, Instagram rolls out a display of scheduled live streams.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri announces the update in a Twitter video. Starting today, creators can separately schedule a live stream, create a feed post for that live stream, and even a teaser story post. The creator will also get a little badge after scheduling a live stream.

The badges in each profile show a display of scheduled live streams. It will let anybody knows that there is a live broadcast coming up. A user can click the badge to sign-up for a reminder or subscribe to the creator profile.

Instagram rolls out a display of scheduled live streams on 26 January 2022.

Implications for Marketers:

Instagram’s display of scheduled live streams can raise awareness for upcoming live broadcasts. For marketers, it can be an easier way to boost participation in live shopping and other live events for the brand.
