Social media users today really love short-form videos. That is why Instagram Reels was first launched in Brazil in November 2019. They are short music clips just like TikTok. Then, it was made available to France, Germany, and India. Last June 2021, Instagram globally launched Reels. Because of its success, Meta also enabled Reels on Facebook. Today, Facebook tests Reels’ reactions.
According to a tweet from Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineering expert, Facebook is working on the ability to add reactions on Reels via emojis. Users just need to press and hold the like button to add one of the seven emoji responses including like, love, care, haha, wow, sad, and angry.
Facebook tests Reels’ reactions on 19 March 2022.
Implications for Marketers:
Reactions have become a habitual behavior for many Facebook users. For marketers, adding emoji reactions on Facebook Reels can boost engagement and reach. It is a quicker way to get marketing conversions on ads and campaigns.
