Digital Shops has gone a long way since the COVID-19 outbreak. Facebook started rolling out Shops on 19 May 2020. It was then rolled out on Instagram on 16 July 2020. Other social media networks followed suit. Pinterest introduced Shop tabs. WhatsApp launched Carts. Even YouTube is now testing product tabs. Determined to expand eCommerce options, Facebook rolls out shop tabs in Canada and the UK.
Today, Facebook introduces a new “Shop Bookmark” on the menu bar and mobile app for users in Canada and the UK. The Shop tab features a collection of products and recent posts from brands and businesses. As they discover the ones they love, they can make a purchase all in one place. In line with the expansion of the Shop tab, Facebook is also adding new features on Shops:
- Automatic Shop creation for a new seller.
- A new single product or product group layout.
- New insights to measure eCommerce results.
- Real-time collections preview after posting.
Facebook is also waiving their Shop fees until the end of this year.
