YouTube Enables Licensed Music on Videos

Music brings videos into life. That is why YouTube continues to enhance its audio features and tools. It consistently adds music creators’ insights and new sets of music mixes. Today, YouTube enables licensed music on videos.

YouTube expands its partnership with the music industry to enable licensed music on videos. It is part of the experiment to grow the music options among creators. Just like Meta’s music revenue-sharing program, it will also pave the way for revenue sharing among creators and music composers or publishers. The update is currently in testing for a small number of YouTube creators.

YouTube enables licensed music on videos as of 28 July 2022.

Implications to Marketers:

Enabling licensed music to YouTube videos allows marketers to create more engaging and shareable video ads. In the long run, they can also help boost conversion rates among brands.
