Twitter Updates the Quality of Video Playbacks

Are you watching videos on Twitter? Sometimes, these videos may be blurred or pixelated. There are times when it feels like watching in a dirty window or rain. Today, with a new media editor, Twitter updates the quality of video playbacks.

Videos may not be the main business of Twitter. But it seems that the platform wants to keep up with the trends. As people love videos, it is testing watching YouTube on Twitter for iOS. It also enabled full-width visuals and video ads. Twitter’s backend team updates the quality of video playback for a better and smoother viewing experience. But in terms of technical standards, there are no changes made. Still, the recommended video upload specs are:

  • 1200 x 1200 pixels for videos with a 1:1 aspect ratio
  • 1920 x 1080 pixels for videos with a 16:9 aspect ratio
  • Larger video files will be optimized once expanded.
  • The maximum bitrate stays at 25 Mbps.
  • The maximum frame rate stays at 40 fps.

Twitter updates the quality of video playbacks on 24 September 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

As Twitter updates the quality of video playbacks, it gives users a better viewing experience. For marketers, it means a greater opportunity to promote a product or service using video ads.
