Twitter wants to give its users the freedom of choice. First, it enabled unmentioning. The platform also introduced a toolbox collection to suggest third-party apps that the Twitter nation may consider. Recently, it launched auto-caption on videos. Today, it is giving the term “CC” a different concept. Twitter tests the “CC” button.
Twitter’s “CC” button stands for closed captions. It means users can enable or disable automatic video captions on their Twitter uploads. A “CC” button will appear on the top right corner of the video player screen. Users can toggle within the button to turn automatic video captions on or off. The update applies to Twitter users for Android and iOS.
Twitter tests the “CC” button on 23 April 2022.
Implications to Marketers:
Twitter’s closed caption can make it easier for marketers to control their ads and campaigns. Auto-captions on videos can increase keyword density and diversity. While taking control can help marketers enhance engagement and performance.
