Snapchat is rolling out a lot of new features and tools. Recently, the platform allowed username change, mid-roll ads on stories, and a ticket master map layer. Today, Snapchat enables location sharing.
The update aims to boost a buddy system where Snp chatters can meet friends while en route to a meeting or date or on their way home. Snapchat enables real-time location sharing on Snap tabs. It is similar to the iOS’ “Find My” app. Snap chatters can allow location sharing between mutual friends. It can be set at 15 minutes to a few hours. Alternatively, Snap chatters can pause sharing to reduce the risk of stalking.
To enable location sharing, navigate to a friend’s profile and choose the duration. location sharing will then be visible to the chat window of the chosen friend’s profile. This is the first live location feature from Snapchat that enables location sharing on 18 February 2022.
