Instagram is now a photo- and video-sharing app. But the platform still focuses on redesigning its visual effects. It has long been testing a full-screen display before it enabled a visual refresh last May. Today, Instagram tests a new full-screen mode and an updated navigation bar.
Instagram is currently testing another full-screen mode option on feed videos. A description tab appears along the bottom of the Instagram logo. It lets users comment or favorite the video. The navigation bar still appears underneath, and other top buttons float at the top.
Instagram tests a new full-screen mode and an updated navigation bar as of 16 June 2022. The test has been rolled out to a limited number of users.
Implications to Marketers:
Instagram tests a new full-screen mode and an updated navigation bar to remain competitive with TikTok. This is a good sign for marketers promoting on Instagram.
