Cross-platform sharing between Instagram and Twitter has never been easier. Not until today as Instagram puts back Twitter preview cards. Instagram preview cards are previously available on Twitter. But Instagram canceled it last 2012.
In December 2020, Twitter started with sharing tweets on Snapchat Stories. It then allowed sharing tweets to Instagram Stories last June. Tweets appeared as shareable stickers. As Instagram and Twitter started working again, the photo and video app realized the need to put Twitter preview cards back. IG users can now share the link to their IG post on Twitter. It will show up as a preview card with a photo. The update applies to Android, iOS, and the Web.
Instagram puts back Twitter preview cards on 03 November 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
As Instagram puts back Twitter preview cards, marketers now have the chance to easily share ads and campaigns between the two platforms. This can boost reach and engagement. Eventually, they can also increase conversion between both Instagram and Twitter audiences.
