Here’s another good news from Twitter! The platform now allows sharing tweets to Instagram Stories. Last year, Twitter enabled embedded tweets to display on websites. It also allowed tweet sharing on Snapchat stories. The new update is a similar way to interact with tweet content.
Starting today, Twitter users who will share a tweet will see Instagram Stories as an option. Once they tap such an option, a blank camera frame appears. Users can edit the tweet before sharing it. They can add an image or video, edit the background, etc. Jane Manchun Wong, a reverse engineering expert, noted that tweets that are shared with Instagram Stories are not tappable.
Twitter now allows sharing tweets to Instagram Stories on 23 June 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
Sharing tweets to Instagram Stories can boost marketers’ interest in sharing ads on Twitter. It allows easy re-distribution of content to boost awareness and engagement.
