Here’s to upload photos and videos via desktop on Facebook’s family of apps. It started when Facebook rolled out new creative effects on Messenger desktop. Then, Instagram made a facelift on the layout of desktop stories. Last May, it also started testing posting regular IG feeds on desktop. These include Carousels, IG photos, IGTV, and status updates. Today, Instagram launches a live test of uploading photos and videos via desktop.
Matt Navarra, a social media expert, announces the update through a tweet. A small group of users now see a “+” icon on the top bar of their Instagram on their desktop. Upon clicking the “+” icon, users can now upload photos or videos right from their computer or PC. Adding visuals gives the users access to Instagram editing tools such as filters and formatting. Still, Reels and Stories upload are not yet included.
Instagram launches a live test of uploading photos and videos via desktop on 24 June 2021.
