Instagram Adds Custom Stickers for International Women’s Day

Stickers have been a powerful interactive tool on Instagram. It was launched in December 2016 to enhance engagement among Stories. Since then, these features have been customized to stir interaction among Instagrammers. In May 2018,  emoji slider stickers allow users to ask nuanced questions among friends. In April 2020, gift cards and food order stickers have greatly supported small businesses. While donation stickers started helping communities in July 2020. In celebration of International Women’s Day, Instagram adds custom stickers for women in science and tech.

Instagram adds three custom stickers designed by Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya, a New York-based multi-disciplinary artist. It aims to highlight the important achievements of women in science and tech disciplines. Users can add this to their Stories to celebrate International Women’s Day. Also, Instagram encourages Instagrammers to follow women who have excelled in their field of interest. This is by highlighting the STEM creators for #PiDay, an Instagram page about notable female engineers, scientists, and researchers.

Instagram Stickers are a great way to celebrate events like International Women’s Day. For marketers, a sticker can enhance Stories ads.  Brands can use emoji sliders to boost interaction among their target audiences. They can gather helpful inputs through question stickers.
