Facebook Pay Will Now Be Available to Third-Party Platforms

Today, people are using Facebook Pay for sending money, shopping, tipping, etc. Launched on 15 November 2021, Facebook Pay is a free, safe, and secure payment feature for the Facebook app. After making it available in Brazil, the platform welcomed a new Facebook Pay Team last August 2020. Their first move is testing QR codes to make shopping easier. Today, Facebook Pay will now be available to third-party platforms.

Facebook Pay on websites

By August 2021, participating US businesses now allow Facebook Pay as a payment option on their eCommerce websites. This makes shopping easier for customers without the need to re-enter their payment information.  The rollout will start among Shopify merchants and will expand to other Facebook shops over time.

Facebook Pay will now be available to third-party platforms on 14 July 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Making Facebook Pay available to third-party platforms is a big eCommerce push for the king of social media. As users get used to such payment options, it will boost endorsement and exposure of Facebook Pay. For marketers, this can help simplify the buying experience to increase sales among Facebook shops.
