Facebook Introduces 2 New Portal Devices

Here are 2 new additions to Facebook’s smart gadgets! Facebook introduces 2 new Portal devices. Less than 2 weeks ago, the platform unveiled RayBan Stories. They are wearable smart glasses equipped with cameras in 20 style combinations. Currently, Facebook Reality Labs is testing AR hats and smartwatches

Portal 10" display

Facebook Portal is a hands-free video calling device powered by Alexa, Amazon’s virtual assistant. These devices allow voice commands. Its AI can connect users online, on the radio, TV, and other smart devices. Facebook introduces 2 new Portal devices as an addition to its Portal family. These are Portal Go and Portal+. 

  • Portal Go is a 10” Portal device equipped with a 12 MP camera and room-filling audio speaker. It is priced at $199 per unit. 
  • Portal+ is a 14” dedicated calling device with a high-fidelity audio speaker, smart camera, and tilting HD display. The smart camera automatically adjusts its focus to ensure that everyone is on the frame. It is priced at $349 per unit. 

Together with the launch of these 2 new Portal devices, Facebook also introduces Portal for Business. It allows businesses to manage their team through Facebook Work accounts

Facebook introduces 2 new portal devices on 21 September 2021.

Implications for Marketers: 

Facebook’s 2 new portal devices are a great addition to the platform’s existing Portal family. For marketers, the new Portal for Business can be a perfect collaboration tool to level up Facebook’s marketing approach.
