Facebook unveils Ray-Ban Stories! It is the platform’s first generation of smart glasses. Facebook Reality Labs is the team responsible for creating AR/VR tools like AR hats, smart glasses, and smartwatches. Last September 2020, it launched Project Aria in collaboration with Luxottica, the maker of Ray-Ban. The result of this innovative project is Ray-Ban Stories.
Ray-Ban Stories are smart glasses that allow users to:
- capture photos and videos using 5MP cameras
- listen to music using open-ear speakers
- share real-time adventures via the Facebook view app
- take phone calls.
All these help you stay present with colleagues, family, friends, and the world around you. It comes in 20 style combinations for $299 each. The variations include Ray-Ban’s most iconic styles such as Meteor, Round, Wayfarer, and Wayfarer Large, in five colors. It also comes with a range of clear, prescription, sun, and transition lenses.
A fully charged Ray-Ban Stories allow usage for 3 days. It can store 300 photos or 30 videos. Ray-Ban Stories is now available in select retail stores in the US. They can also be ordered online in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, and the UK.
