Groups are the real heart of Facebook nowadays. The platform has been rolling out enhancements on building a better community. These include branded content, collab manager, engagement alerts, and up-down vote stickers. Just recently, it also added a new range of tools for group admins. These include an admin home, comment and post moderations, and conflict alerts. Today, Facebook enables new post control among groups.
Facebook group admins can now enable or disable different post formats or types within their group. When creating a new post, they can also customize a default post format and save them as shortcuts. When a user wants to post something within the group, the default post format can be accessed through a short link option. To manage these new post controls, they can access the tools at the bottom of the group composer panel.
Facebook enables new post control among groups on 21 June 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
The new post control among Facebook groups makes it easier for admins to remain on-topic while ensuring engagement. For marketers, enabling the type of post group members can share can highlight relevant content to make a brand stand out.
