The Clubhouse app is back for some big updates. After enabling auto-captions, pinned links, and spatial audio, the platform is set to add some more resources to its Creator’s Common hub. Today, Clubhouse rolls out language localization and topics.
Language Localization
Last month, Clubhouse went multilingual by initially adding support to 13 languages. Starting today, Clubhouse for Android will be supporting 13 more local languages. These include the following:
- Arabic
- Bengali
- Chinese Simplified
- Chinese Traditional
- Farsi/Persian
- Hausa
- Igbo
- Marathi
- Nepali
- Somali
- Thai
- Turkish
- Yoruba
The move aims to see more Clubhouse parties in different regions of the world.
Topics
Do you want to search for clubs, people, and rooms that share the passions you have? You can now search through Clubhouse via “Topics.” It was formerly termed the “Interests” tab and will be rolling out for both Android and iOS users. In line with the update, detailed granular topics will be available for searching. For example, users can now search for “The Dodgers” instead of baseball.
Topics will also be appearing within profiles to see what others are interested in. However, users have the option to keep their topics private. A new topics page will also showcase top searches on clubs, people, and rooms. Creators can add these topics as they go on a live audio broadcast.
Clubhouse rolls out language localization and topics on 02 December 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
The new language localization and topics features of Clubhouse can help the platform establish its own niche and rise back up. For marketers, these can be new options to reach new audiences on their digital campaigns.
