Reels’ success
Instagram is really aiming for Reels’ success. There have been quite a number of updates on Reels. This includes launching Reels replies in December as well as testing Dancify options on Reels. To further improve the app, Instagram tests converting stories highlights to Reels today.
Converting Stories Highlights to Reels
@WFBrother, an app researcher, recently tweeted an example of the process. While this option is not available to everyone, some Instagram users are now seeing an option in their highlights to convert the highlight to a short Reels clip by tapping on a Reels button.
After that, you can sync the highlight to music, giving you a whole new way to make Reels content.

Longer Reels Clips
Aside from converting highlights to Reels, Alessandro Paluzzi also expressed on Twitter that Instagram is working on a possibility of creating Reels that last as long as 90 seconds.

There are so many new things to look out for with Instagram’s efforts to bring out the best in their application.

Implications for Marketers:
Instagram’s experiments allow marketers to expand their Reels options. In a way, marketers can recycle their content and put in cool tweaks as they make use of the conversion option.
