YouTube Expands the Availability of Super Chat and Super Stickers Option

Watch out YouTubers! YouTube expands the availability of Super Chat and Super Stickers options. It means new monetization opportunities to creators of the added countries.

Super Chat was launched in 2019. It allows viewers to donate or tip creators during a live stream. The donation is in exchange for animated character stickers that make the viewer’s comment stands out.

Super Stickers, on the other hand, are animated images allowing viewers to congratulate, convey emotions, express support, or greet live streamers. Like Super Chats, they appear within the comment stream. They also remained pinned on the top comments for a certain time.

Today both features will be available to eligible YouTube creators in the following region:

  • Caicos Islands
  • French Guyana
  • French Polynesia
  • Guam
  • Kenya
  • Malaysia
  • the Northern Mariana Islands
  • Turks

YouTube expands the availability of the Super Chat and Super Stickers option on 22 September 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Creators are the heart of the YouTube Community. That is why creator monetization has been one of the platform’s main focuses. For marketers, the expansion of Super Chat and Super Stickers can increase engagement during live stream shopping. Partnering with creators can be easier as they can boost ads while creators focus on getting tips from viewers.
