YouTube is the world’s largest video-sharing platform. Recently, the platform launched live shopping and go live together. Today, YouTube enables profile rings on live streams and stories.
YouTube’s Ads Policy Manager, Conor Kavanagh, announces the update via the Creator Insider channel. Starting today, the channel avatar of YouTube creators will display profile rings if they are currently on a live stream or have new stories uploaded. The profile rings for YouTube live comes with the text “LIVE.” On the other hand, recently uploaded stories will show plain profile rings. Tapping into the ringed avatar can lead viewers to the live stream or story.
YouTube enables profile rings on live streams and stories as of 30 March 2022.
Implications for Marketers:
Profile rings on YouTube live streams and stories may be a minor update. But it can help marketers broaden their reach by offering new ways to connect and engage.
