Since August of last year, Twitter has now focused on its messaging feature. It has been testing DM improvements like audio messaging, the “Leave this Conversation” option, and sharing tweets to 20 different DMS. The platform even acquired the Sphere group chat app. Today, Twitter works on direct messages search.
As shared by Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineering expert, Twitter is now working on the ability to search direct messages both on its Android and iOS app. A “Search Direct Message” option appears beside a Twitter profile image. It will allow a user to search people and groups in direct messages based on their usernames.
Twitter works on direct message search as of 05 January 2022.
Implications for Marketers:
Twitter’s direct messages search can be a great addition for marketers to connect with their clients and prospects. By easily finding threads on direct messages, brands can better push through with a messaging campaign on Twitter.
