Tweets are limited to 280 characters. But Twitter finds ways to make such limits limitless. The platform enabled notes, tweet storm, and a visual editor. Today, Twitter tests new features on notes.
Twitter notes allow users to write longer tweets as blogs. It consists of a 100-character title and a 2500-character body. Unlike regular tweets, they appear as a Twitter card once the blog is published. They can also be edited and come with a unique URL that navigates outside Twitter. Twitter now tests new features on notes. These include:
- The author’s bio shows up next to a published note or at the bottom of each note
- Block quotes in notes
- Notes are now a part of Twitter Write
- Trending topic showing up next to a published note
- Writer’s profile on the notes tab for Android
Twitter tests new features on notes on 28 July 2022.
Implications to Marketers:
Twitter’s new features in notes can help marketers build audience and personal branding. By highlighting the story of a brand or creator, it can boost curiosity and interest from the Twitter nation.
