There’s an ongoing race on using Bitmoji avatars on social media platforms. Snapchat introduced such a feature last July 2021. It even applied for a Bitmoji fashion patent. Recently, Facebook launched an Avatar Store to dress up Bitmoji avatars. Today, Twitter tests Bitmoji profile images.
As tweeted by Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineering expert, Twitter now works on using Snapchat Bitmoji avatars s profile images. Under the Pick a Profile Picture tab, Twitter users will now have two options:
- Upload a picture from your device gallery
- Add a Btmoji avatar. Once a user connects to a Bitmoji account, the user can now upload Bitmoji avatars and stickers.
As such, users will now have another option to use digital avatars to represent them.

Implications to Marketers:
Twitter’s Bitmoji profile images can be a great way for marketers to showcase brands, products, and services using Bitmoji avatars. As Bitmoji popularly becomes a trend, it can significantly increase brand awareness and reach.
