Twitter Enables Branded Likes for all Japan, the UK, and the US Users

Since September 2021, Twitter has been testing reaction emojis. These include “Cheer,” “HaHa,” “Hmm,” and “Sad.” The platform also tested quote tweets with a reaction option. Today, Twitter enables branded likes for all Japan, the UK, and US users.

Branded Likes are stylish enhancements of the “like” button. These custom animations allow users to like, unlike, or re-like a tweet. They will be available as paid ad options to help improve engagement within the app.

Twitter enables branded likes for all Japan, the UK, and US users on 22 June 2022.

Implications to Marketers:

Marketers may need to pay a fee to use branded likes on Twitter. A stylish enhancement to tweet ads can help improve brand recall and resonance.
