Snapchat is a popular instant messaging app. But it’s going way through with innovation. Last year, the platform applied for a patent in Bitmoji fashion. Afterward, it rolled out Bitmoji avatars. Today, Snapchat applies for a patent to animate full 3D avatars.
The patent application to animate 3D avatars is based on full-body tracking. To augment an original video, the Snap camera will track the body movements of the skeletal joints in a 2D video. It will create a vector to apply the movement in a 3D avatar.
