Social media platforms evolve in data. That is why it is important for users to protect their social media accounts. Meta, for one, established control tools and secured data portability. It also published safety tips for account security. Today, Meta launches a digital security online course.

Meta’s digital security online course is for free. It is a 90-minute self-paced free program for civil society, human rights defenders, and journalists. The course is created and managed by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) in partnership with the Border Center for Journalists and Bloggers (BCJB). The course covers the following training:
- Risk reduction strategies to prevent cyberattacks.
- Securing social media usage through the protection of sensitive data
- Using OpenPGP to report a difficult situation
- How to counteract online harassment
It is currently available in English. But it will soon be translated in Bahasa Indonesia, Bengali, Chinese, Filipino, Khmer, Sinhala, Tamil, Thai, and Urdu.
Meta launches a digital security online course on 04 March 2022.
Implications for Marketers:
Meta’s digital security online course is also worth taking a look at for marketers. It can increase digital literacy to maximize and protect the digital assets of a brand.
