Facebook Rebranded as “Meta,” a Social Tech Company

Starting today, Facebook will use a new company name – Meta. It brings together the Facebook family of apps and its technologies under one social tech umbrella. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder’s letter, highlighted that the king of social media is beginning a next chapter for the company and the Internet. He also quotes that: “we don’t build services to make money; we make money to build better services.”

Meta will be more immersive. It will embody users to be within the VR experience and not just looking at it. Meta will be a hybrid of social experiences and 3D projection in the physical world. Facebook even made a film exploring how we may use metaverse in the future. Such a future shows that it will help people and physical things to teleport instantly as a hologram in a different dimension.
