Instagram wants to make it easier for users to find ideas and inspirations within the platform. Last November 2020, it launched FAQ options for brands and businesses plus keyword search. Recently, the platform introduced Stories’ maps. Today, Instagram enables audio search.
Instagram enables audio search under its “Search” tab. Users can see a new “Audio” section on Instagram’s search tab together with top posts, account feeds, tags, and places. Tapping on the audio section leads to popular music tracks. As users tap a track, a TikTok-like Reels display will show. Users can save the audio as they wish.

Implications for Marketers:
Instagram’s audio search is a move to strengthen Reels. For marketers, it can be an option to be discovered even more on Instagram. By pairing images and videos with Reels ads, there is a greater chance for brands to get discovered on Instagram.
