Facebook has been exploring more feedback-driven newsfeeds. One of its main goals is to reduce political posts. While the other one is to create more private connections. That is why the platform is currently testing 5 profiles per user. Today, Facebook launches the feeds tab.
As Facebook mentioned, one of the most requested features among users is the ability not to miss posts from friends. Thus, Facebook launches the feeds tab. Facebook’s timeline will now display two feeds. These are the home tab and the feeds tab. The home feed, represented by the home icon on top of a Facebook timeline, will show regular and recommended posts to discover new content. While the feeds tab, represented by a camera with a timer icon, will display recent feeds from friends, groups, and pages that a user followed. It will highlight varied categories such as Favorites, Friends, Groups, etc.
Facebook launches the feeds tab on 21 July 2022.
Implications to Marketers:
As Facebook launches the feeds tab, it gives the option for more private connections. For marketers, it can boost brand awareness and engagement on the home tab, which turns into a place to discover new content.
