Twitter Previews NFT Display Option as Profile Image

There is a rising interest in NFT in social media these days. Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) is a unique trading card that cannot be replaced with something else. It is part of the Ethereum cryptocurrency blockchain. On the 1st day of October, the platform showed an NFT verification process for Twitter accounts. Today, Twitter previews the NFT display option as a profile image.

Twitter currently shares insight on how people can showcase NFT on their profiles. It will allow them to share their NFT as a profile image. Each image feed links directly to the ownership status of each NFT. As such, members of the Twitter nation can look up the info of any NFT that a profile owner use. As announced previously, verified NFTs will also show under Twitter’s “Collectible” tab, which is still under testing.

Twitter previews the NFT display option as a profile image on 28 October 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

Twitter’s NFT display option as a profile image aims to encourage transparency about NFT ownership. For marketers, it will still be a long way to use such a technology in boosting engagement and growth. They can open up avenues for digital payment. But everybody still needs to wait and see.
