In celebration of World Emoji Day, Messenger launches “Soundmojis.”
Soundmojis is the next level of emojis in Facebook Messenger. They allow users to send a range of sound clips through the chat. These include clapping, cricket, drumroll, evil laughter, etc. They also include audio clips from:
- music artists like Rebecca Black
- music themes from Universal Pictures’ F9
- Netflix and Shondaland’s Bridgerton
- popular TV shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Effective today. Messenger will be launching a soundmojis library for users to choose from a wide variety of sounds. If you want to check it out, head over to your Messenger app, start a chat and tap the smiley icon. Once the expressions menu opens up, choose the loudspeaker icon. You will see that each sound is represented by an emoji. Messenger will regularly update the soundmojis library moving forward. Soundmojis also play an audio snippet when a recipient gets a message.
Messenger launches soundmojis on 15 July 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
Messenger soundmojis are interesting additions to your chat threads. For marketers, they can be a great way to liven messaging ads.
