LinkedIn Reports What’s Most Annoying to Its Users

Last week, LinkedIn ran a poll asking their users what’s most annoying to them while using the platform. The survey was made right after LinkedIn updates its fake account detection and no-politics button. As the survey ended, LinkedIn reports what’s most annoying to its users.

LinkedIn Survey

Here are the top 4 most annoying things about LinkedIn.

  • Around 22% of LinkedIn users are annoyed with off-topic posts.
  • Around 23% of LinkedIn users are annoyed with irrelevant notifications.
  • Around 25% of LinkedIn users are annoyed with spammers and scammers.
  • Around 30% of LinkedIn users are annoyed with unwanted messages.

The results are similar to a recent poll made by Social Media Today. According to LinkedIn users, the most annoying unwanted messages are commonly dating invitations and product pitches.

Implications for Marketers:

Knowing the most annoying things among LinkedIn users can help marketers rethink their strategy on LinkedIn. It probably indicates using LinkedIn’s Sponsored In-Mail creatively among brands. Better yet, it might be better to target LinkedIn professionals by posting valuable content on feeds instead of DM marketing.
