Facebook Tests New Animated Reactions When Sharing Posts

An exciting part of Facebook is its funny effects and GIFs. In the past few months, it has launched motion effects on images, promotion tags, and stickers, and upvotes and downvotes. Today, Facebook tests new animated reactions when sharing posts.

Matt Navarra, a social media expert, shared a video about the update. When a Facebook user shares a post from another profile, an option to add an animated background or reaction will appear. The chosen animation will be displayed to other Facebook users as they scroll on the sharer’s feed. Such an update is under limited testing. Random Facebook users who are included in the test will see a “Share Your Reaction in a Post” at the bottom of the screen.

Implications for Marketers:

Facebook’s new animated reactions are added elements to boost engagement when sharing someone else’s post. For marketers, these new animated reactions can liven up UGC promotions. Collaborating with the right sharers could bring attention to other Facebook users by using overwhelming animations.
