Facebook Marketplace Rolls Out New Shipping Options

Facebook Marketplace is an online hub where people can buy and sell products and services. Last March, the platform enabled “holiday mode” where shops can pause transactions to take a break. The platform is also testing a branded content marketplace. As part of its eCommerce push, Facebook Marketplace rolls out new shipping options.

As Facebook Marketplace celebrates its 5th anniversary, shipping options are now available among “Buy & Sell” groups in the U.S. and on person-to-person non-professional sales in Great Britain. These are on top of local shipping options available in the hub. Facebook Marketplace allows browsers to filter results based on shipping options. It makes them easily search the availability and placement of products and services.

Facebook Marketplace rolls out new shipping options on 14 October 2021.

Implications for Marketers:

The new shipping options on Facebook Marketplace facilitate broader in-stream buying potentials. It is worth considering for marketers if they want to expand their reach throughout the year, especially this holiday season.
