Facebook is continuously building new experiences to connect creators and communities. With the popularity of the Clubhouse app, the platform started beta testing audio rooms in Taiwan last May. Last June, Facebook officially launched live audio rooms and podcasts. Today, Facebook expands live audio rooms availability.
Starting today, Facebook brings audio rooms to all verified creators and public figures globally. The profile picture of audio rooms hosts will be visible on top of newsfeeds. Live audio rooms will also be available in Facebook Groups where the admin decides who will be the host. Soon, it will also be available for Android and desktop.
Facebook expands live audio rooms availability on 11 October 2021.
Implications for Marketers:
As Facebook expands the availability of live audio rooms, it is giving users a lightweight and more authentic way to connect with the community. For marketers, live audio rooms can be a form of social media audio marketing. With the popularity of audio conversations, they can boost brand engagement and reach.
